“A supportive and designated breastfeeding friendly child care sends a positive message that will allow parents to focus on spending time baby care/needs, as opposed to worrying about leaving baby or deciding whether or not to continue breastfeeding.”
A growing number of families are providing human milk to their children. They need support by people caring for their young infants. Our Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Designation initiative supports the efforts of the Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Initiative and builds on the information provided in the Ten Steps to Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Centers Resource Kit. Our 2-hour training is also supported by 4 C for Children. It is appropriate for both family and group child care programs. The primary goal is to explain and discuss the importance of breastfeeding support in the child care setting and how providers can implement policies and practices to best serve their families.
